HOW TO PRESENT YOURSELF ONLINE

PREVIEW :: GRACE'S NEW HEADSHOTS

There will come a time when someone will want to do business with you online. Are you ready? Have you had a good hard look at how you appear online? The question here really is if you've spent the time to make sure you are sending the right message to the world about who you are and who you are looking to work with?

95% of all first meetings happen online. Let that sink in for a minute. This means that 95% of all people you will ever meet will connect with your digital self long before they ever give you a face to face opportunity. Are you comfortable with how you appear to these people? Does your profile do enough to convince them?

It's not ONLY about having a killer headshot. It's about having one that gives you a strong likelihood of people connecting with you on a real level online. How hard is your online self working for you? This is the one thing that could make or break your business/brand... can you afford to ignore it? I know I can't.

So what can you do?

Now this is easier than it sounds. All it takes is a close look at each of your social networks. Go in and have a look at: What image are you using as your main profile pic? What are you saying in your bio/summaries. Have you got your most recent contact info on there? Has your message changed? Does anything need updating? Be very critical and ruthless in your approach, remember: less is more here.

  • Correct the errors and fill in the blanks
  • Bring all your summaries/profiles into line
  • Get a professional set of recent Headshots
  • Be consistent with updates
  • Add value

Make these steps part of your yearly routine and keep your digital presence as current as is practical for you. It's more important now than ever.
